The Foundations - Jerkin' the dog

The Foundations were a British soul band, active from 1967 to 1970. The group, made up of West Indians, White British, and a Sri Lankan, are best known for their two biggest hits, "Baby Now That I've Found You" (a Number One hit in the UK Singles Chart and Canada, and subsequently Top 10 in the US), written by Tony Macaulay and John MacLeod; and "Build Me Up Buttercup" (a number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 in Canada), co-written by Macaulay with Mike d'Abo, at the time the lead vocalist with Manfred Mann. The group was the first multi-racial group to have a number 1 hit in the UK in the 1960s. The Foundations are notable for being one of the few label acts to successfully imitate what became known as the Motown Sound. In terms of line-up and musical style, they anticipated the sound of the more successful Hot Chocolate. They were in a similar musical vein as Love Affair, who also topped the UK charts in 1968 with their version of Robert Knight's "Everlasting Love". The Foundations signed to Pye, at the time one of only four big UK record companies (the others being EMI with its HMV, Columbia Records, and Parlophone labels; Decca; and Philips who also owned Fontana).

Una tre giorni di musica per il terzo e ultimo appuntamento Snapshot, serie di eventi nati per produrre dal basso "SHOTS: An American Photographer Journal 1967-1972", la mostra fotografica di David Fenton - per la prima volta in Italia - che si terrà all'Angelo Mai Altrove dal 14 al 18 ottobre. Tanti artisti e dj d'eccezione contribuiranno con la loro energia sonora a portare a Roma le magnifiche foto che hanno immortalato la rivoluzione culturale negli Stati Uniti tra la fine degli anni '60 e l'inizio degli anni '70. Diretta radiofonica su Fandango Web Radio curata da Valerio Mirabella. Spazio anche al cinema delle nuove leve: Cineama presenterà al pubblico nuovi corti indipendenti. Despite the cover here's a great piece of instrumental rock from italian great guitarist Bruno De Filippi. It was released in 1962 on Bluebell Records, a label based in Milan. De Filippi was a extraordinary jazz musician that also played in Italian pop band "I Campioni"

...immaginate di avere un enorme shake ed infilarci dentro: CRAMPS, SUICIDE, KRAFTWERK, ELVIS, DICK DALE e una bella dose di immagini di B-MOVIE horror e fetish....

I MESSER CHUPS sono una straordinaria band psycho-surf electro che arriva dalla Russia, più precisamente da San Pietroburgo, e che sta riscuotendo ovunque grandi consensi. Il loro sound è impregnato di suoni prodotti da preistorici synth analogici e pieno di richiami retrò ai vecchi film horror vampireschi degli anni ’60, pur mantenendo un approccio divertente e danzereccio tra surf-rock, lounge music e psychobilly. La maggior parte dei loro riferimenti estetici e musicali prende spunto dall’esagerazione della cultura pop-trash del secolo scorso, dai film horror sci-fi degli anni ‘30-‘70 alla musica surf di The Ventures, Dick Dale e The Trashmen, passando per le sonorità più lounge delle big-band di Henry Mancini, Les Baxter e Martin Denny, e per il rock ’n’ roll più grezzo degli anni ‘60. È una musica che di sicuro farebbe impazzire Quentin Tarantino (che certamente darebbe una parte alla bellissima bassista Zombie Girl) e che ricorda tantissimo le atmosfere di “Pulp Fiction”. I Messer Chups sembrano usciti da un tetro horror B-movie sovietico, propongono un genere affascinante e inconsueto e i loro spettacoli sono qualcosa di unico. Il concerto sarà accompagnato dalle proiezioni dei video creati da Oleg Gitarkin: un irresistibile pastiche di animazione e bassa fedeltà. Tra i loro fan vantano anche un nome illustre come quello di Mike Patton (Faith No More) che ha prodotto il loro album “Crazy Price”.
